The bronze horse stands proudly, with its head raised, on the roundabout on Molenstraat, one of Reet's important approach roads. It is a reference to the formerly very rural character of Reet and the pride of the hard-working farmers in their work.
Essential in Rik Poot's visual language are the hollow spaces between the bronze parts from which his sculptures are constructed. These openings give his monumental sculptures something light and a certain fragility at the same time, with a powerful and expressive rhythm.
