The exterior architecture of Benrath Palace, with the main building and cavalier wings, is in a representative Baroque style, with the wings on the reception side comprising half of the circular castle pond. Like the elongated rectangular MIRROR WIRE on the garden side, it was designed to mirror the façades in the water. The entire water architecture is fed by the Itter.
