Coming from the southwest, a dirt track leads into the forest. About 100 meters from the road, there is enough space for a tent under the cork oak. The local forest ranger I met earlier pointed out the spot to me. This region is very different from the rest of Tunisia: It has a temperate climate and is much more humid than the rest of the country. It's covered by extensive forests of cork oaks, evergreen oaks, Aleppo pines, and eucalyptuses. In the morning, a gentle drizzle and heavy clouds made me feel like I was back in Brittany.
