"The founder of the brickyard was Józef Roszczewski, the then owner of the Hornosta estate (see Hornosta), who took it over before 1884 from his grandfather - Jan Hofer. The reason for building the brickyard was the constantly increasing debt of the estate, which was intended to be repaid with the income from brick production. Brickyard, constantly modernized, it gave 1.5 thousand rubles of annual income in 1904, and 3 thousand rubles in 1914, which, however, did not enable the liquidation of debts.
Currently, the brickyard is in private hands. Access from Hornostaj is a bit of cobblestones and a bit of gravel. The reservoir is very deep in places, perhaps 12 m, and some say much more. Several people have already drowned here. The banks are quite slippery due to the clay.
