Loch Dee is a small water popular with fishermen, which is also the source of the River Dee which flows to the east. It is featured on National Cycle Route 7 (Sunderland to Inverness), so you'll find the Sustrans marker on the shore side, as well as the Southern Upland Way. It's a very remote part of Galloway Forest Park, so make sure you have plenty of supplies with you if you're passing Loch Dee.

There is the clatteringshaws cafe at one end of the trail, and Glen trool visitors centre at the other. You can fill up water bottles, even when closed or grab a cake/coffee when they're open.
