Einfeld is one of 9 districts of the city of Neumünster. It was incorporated into the city of Neumünster in 1970 as part of the district reform. Before that, it belonged to the Bordesholm Monastery (1296-1566), then to the Bordesholm Office (-1867), to the Kiel District (later Bordesholm District (-1889-1932) . , 1932-1934 to the Bordesholm District. From 1948 to 1970, Einfeld was an independent municipality.
Einfeld was first mentioned in a deed of gift from Count Adolf III as Ennienvelde.
The Einfeld Lake is considered a local recreation area and is 178 hectares in size. It was created around 200,000 years ago, during the last ice age.
It offers an 8km long circular path. This is very popular with joggers, Nordic walkers, walkers and cyclists. The western shore is a nature reserve and the historic Magarethenschanze is also located next to it.
There are lake points around the lake that provide information to the lake and its nature.
There are several bays where you can swim. At the Schanze there is also a barbecue, a large lawn, beach volleyball, parking, beach and art on the lake.
There are sailing and rowing boat clubs, as well as a fishing club.
At the beach alley there is a bathing bay with parking, mini golf and a kiosk (open in the summer months).
In the Einfelder Bay there is a bathing bay, a playground, public toilets, a fitness course and a large lawn.
There are now SOS emergency call boxes at 2 bathing bays.
There is another bathing bay in Mühbrook.
The kiosk, the Hotel Seeblick in Mühbrook and the restaurant "Die Schanze" offer refreshment options.
