Erawan Shrine, also known as Thao Maha Phrom Shrine, is one of the most important religious sites in Bangkok. It is located at the busy Ratchaprasong intersection near the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel. The shrine is dedicated to the Hindu god Brahma, worshipped as Phra Phrom in Thailand, and attracts numerous worshipers and tourists every day.

The shrine was originally built in the 1950s to ward off bad luck during the construction of the Erawan Hotel. History says that it is believed to bring good luck, prosperity and protection. Many visitors bring offerings such as flowers, incense sticks and fruit. Traditionally, Thai dance performances are also commissioned as thanks for answered prayers.

The shrine is not only known for its spiritual significance, but also as a symbol of religious tolerance and cultural mix in Thailand. Despite its Hindu roots, many Buddhists and people of other faiths also visit the shrine.
