Even if this highlight is called "View of the Castle", it is actually more of a view of the Johannisberg Monastery with its two distinctive, differently sized spires.
The Hotel Kloster Johannisberg was originally built as a "hydrotherapy facility".
In 1920, Benedictine nuns moved into the building complex and had the church built.
The light cross hangs in the small chapel next to the former cemetery.
Garden opening times: Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The monastery church was built in 1928 and the Benedictine monastery in 1956. Due to a lack of new members, the monastery was closed down in 1991 by the Benedictine nuns, who lived in strict seclusion, and handed over to missionary sisters of the Steyler Order. But this order only stayed in the monastery for a few years. Since the beginning of 2006, the monastery and monastery church have been a conference hotel with large gardens.
