The "Landschaftspark Pottkuhlenteich, Dörentrup", as it is officially called, is a former clay mining area that is being renatured and used extensively. In other words, it is similar to a natural forest cell, only without the special protection of a nature reserve. The forest can grow here as it wants. The paths are still maintained.
Local residents say that the lake used to be the village's rubbish dump. Whole cars should therefore be in the lake. On the other hand, it is very popular with anglers.

The "Pottkuhle" is very beautiful, surrounded by trees in the village center of Dörentrup. An approximately 4.5 km long trail leads around the lake, which is a former clay pit.
