    On the site of the Abbey of Averbode you can look back on a rich history that is already ten centuries old. It is a place of tranquility and reflection. The thirsty can refresh themselves and enjoy their moment in ‘The Moment’. This is the experience centre of the abbey. Discover the bakery, cheese factory and brewery. Enjoy in moderation 😉.

          Since JP has deleted his perfect description I will take the liberty of duplicating it here.

          Het Moment is the experience centre of the Averbode Abbey where you can get to know life in the abbey and taste its products. It is easily accessible via the car park on the road to Blauberg/Herselt. You enter the centre via a gate with informative signs about abbey life and the traditions of agriculture, food and publishing that Averbode is known for.

          From there you can visit the former service buildings, including a bakery, a shop, information points (not only about the abbey, but also about tourism in the region) and a spacious café.

          The shop has a range of products comparable to those of other abbeys: from religious gadgets and books to a wide range of food products and much more, also from other abbeys.
