The Luther Church is located in the Hamm-Mitte district on Martin Luther Square. Its history goes back to the 18th century.
The "small Protestant church", which has only been named after Martin Luther since 1912, was built between 1734 and 1739 according to the plans of the Brandenburg architect Johann Michael Moser. It was ceremoniously inaugurated in 1739. After considerable war damage, the church was rebuilt from 1946 to 1948 with slight improvements. The vault and at least parts of the side galleries were renewed and the altar, pulpit, pews, etc. were restored.
The floor was renewed in 1977/78 and a new choir organ was installed in 1980. After another renovation phase in 2011, the Luther Church was opened as a Protestant youth church on February 4, 2012.

The "small Protestant church", which has only been named after Martin Luther since 1912, was ceremoniously inaugurated in 1739. For a church building from the first half of the 18th century, its architecture adheres strictly to the formal language of the Middle Ages: a three-aisled hall with four bays, to which a polygonal choir is attached to the east, while to the west there is a tower with a square floor plan, through whose ground floor the main entrance to the church leads.

The tower itself is divided into three floors by cornices, the walls of which are framed by strong pilasters. The nave and side aisles are covered by a high roof, at the ridge of which the roof pyramid above the choir is attached. Sandstone plinths and pilasters at the corners frame the wall surfaces of the main building, which is built on a rectangular floor plan.

The simple interior of the church is covered by a wooden cross-ribbed vault, which is plastered like the wooden pillars. On the walls, the vaults rest on simple pilasters with plain capitals.
