Fort Brewerton is a historic fort site dating back to 1759. First constructed as an eight-pointed star fort with a moat and log palisades, it helped with safe travel from Albany to the port of Oswego. Designated on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, it is now the Oliver Stevens Blockhouse Museum, run by the Fort Brewerton Historical Society. The museum shows artifacts from the surrounding area. Open Saturdays from June to September, it provides visitors with a look into late 18th-century military life.
