"... In 1525 the monastery complex was badly damaged during the Peasants' War. Parts of the furnishings, the library and the archive were lost at the time. After Duke Ulrich had introduced the Reformation, all the monks had to leave the monastery in 1536. The monastery school, which was set up after 1556, was closed in 1595 closed again.

From the monastery church, completed in the late twelfth century, remains of the vestibule with Romanesque elements and the west gable can be seen. In addition, the late Gothic renovated chancel, which has served as a Protestant church since 1739, has been preserved. In addition, there are two old storage buildings with partly Romanesque masonry and the remains of a fortification tower with hump ashlars. ..."

The entrance to the Protestant monastery church is reached through the ruins of the former late Romanesque vestibule, built around 1200.

The porch, known as Paradise, was raised in the late Gothic period in 1462.

Paradise served as a meeting place for lay brothers (conversi) and as a burial place for the local nobility.
