The sculpture that occupies the roundabout where Paseo de las Estrellas begins is the work of sculptor Jorge Castro and was conceived as a symbol of the unification of different cultures.
Its artist and creator Jorge Castro called it “settlement” and conceived it as the element that “anchors” wherever the traveler wants to settle. Its persistence gives it the ability to establish closer contact between travelers and residents, which he believes is a relevant factor in the development of Mediterranean cultures. On the one hand, the desire to know what the chosen place offers us and, on the other hand, the desire to know what the traveler brings us.
Consequently, he conceived it as a representative symbol of the welcoming spirit characteristic of the native inhabitants of L'Alfàs del Pi.
Since then, no one has missed taking a souvenir photo. Numerous cultural activities are organized around the sculpture and the craft fair takes place in summer.
