Meyer-Grönhof created the surrealist sculptures of a frog and a flamingo in 2003 for the exhibition “Gallery on the Bridge”. The artist writes about the background to its creation: “In my youth I was fascinated by surrealism. The paintings of Salvador Dalí and René Magritte were the model for my first artistic attempts and ultimately decisive for my decision to pursue and pursue the profession of painter and steel sculptor.”

Bad Kreuznach's castle park has thus gained a new cultural offering: Two sculptures by the artist Gernot Meyer-Grönhof invite visitors to the park to enjoy art spontaneously and easily in public spaces. The colorful, four-and-a-half-meter-high animal sculptures made of sheet steel, "Hommage à Dalí" (Frog) and "Hommage à Magritte" (Flamingo), are located in the park to the right and left of the Schlosspark Museum, each near the Ellerbach stream.
