The entire region was devastated by the earthquake on September 9, 2023. The road is already passable again, but anything but passable. It's a huge construction site, 12km to the south isn't good at all, but only about 5km of that is completely without asphalt, otherwise you can always drive where there is still some asphalt left, there isn't much traffic, it's quiet and quite slowly. The entire route will certainly be resurfaced in 2024/2025. Please let me know if you have put new pictures online, I will then delete mine. I drove the entire route with 25mm tires without any problems! Of course it could be more pleasant, but the landscape and warm people, despite their immense suffering, make up for it all and the region needs tourists who will leave their money there. So don't let yourself be put off!
