Very close to San Simeon and right at the famous Highway No. 1 is the home for North Americas largest sea elephant colony. You can watch them mate in the sea or just relax at the beach from a very close proximity. Come here where the sun is setting to get an even more stunning picture with the lovely creatures.

Well-designed parking lot, from which you can easily watch the elephant seals, but not only the elephant seals, there are cute chipmunks everywhere, some of which are a bit tame.

Unnecessarily stop at the free parking and run the trail. Everywhere one can observe the elephant seals in their natural environment. Simply terrific.
