Chub Lake WMA was designated preserve the Oak woodlands and undeveloped portion of the lake's shoreline. These areas are important habitat for deer, pheasants, turkey, waterfowl, and more.

A great place to paddle, but the launch is on the side of the road, and the parking for it is up the hill, probably about 4 blocks away, and you aren't supposed to stop on the road to unload. So it's a bit of a hike with your boat or board, but worth it to be out there on a quiet lake. Nice retreat back at the end of the lake. The creek that you launch into can get really full of plants, so it's worth looking before you get all your stuff to the launch to make sure it's clear enough.
