There's a little "picture window" atop Spruce Mountain that gives you great views, even in the summer when the trees are at full growth—but the views here are nicer once the trees drop their leaves, or before they've grown them out for the year.
With that said, consider adding nearby Raycroft Lookout to your adventure, because the lookouts there are even better during the summer.
