Viewing bastion on the A3

The lookout bastion shows the Rhine-Main region with all its contrasts. The view falls over fields and meadows to the nearby low mountain ranges, to the seven-lane A3, the ICE route and the planes flying above.

Anyone who has climbed the small platform of the artificial hill on the A3 on the winding plaster spiral will surely be amazed by the rusty plates made of Corten steel. These “sighting aids” direct the eyes to the most striking points in the landscape. The Melibokus stands out at 517 m and the very regular cone shape from the ridges of the Odenwald. The tower of Frankfurt Airport appears as clear as the characteristic Frankfurt skyline. The Altkönig (798 m), Großer Feldberg (879 m), the small Feldberg (825 m above sea level) and - nearby - the Kapellenberg (292 m) present themselves as an impressive ensemble in the Taunus mountain range Hofheim.
