The Gadebuscher Museum presents in the lavishly restored rooms of the historic office barn the interesting history of the West Mecklenburg city Gadebusch. The focus is on the history of nature and local history. On display are archaeological finds from prehistory; et al Legacies of the Slavic inhabitants, objects from the Middle Ages and the period of the princely residence. An important aspect of the exhibition is the last battle of the Nordic War, the Battle of Gadebusch (Wakenstädt) of 1712.

The visitor can also be offered the following additional services:

- Exhibition tour

- Bread baking in the historic clay oven

- City tours

There are still numerous streets with their old houses that give an idea of life in earlier times in the small town of Gadebusch.

This is evidenced by a small but impressive collection of objects in the exhibition rooms of the museum complex, located below the Renaissance castle.

The complex, which opened in 2006, invites all guests from near and far to visit.

The city's history is impressively presented in the lavishly renovated rooms. Numerous events and special exhibitions enrich the cultural life of the city and its surroundings. But what makes this museum complex so special?

It is the contemplative, quiet atmosphere...This includes lingering in the museum courtyard under a bright blue sky with a wonderful view of the castle lake.

The last battle of the Northern War, the Battle of Gadebusch in 1712, occupies a prominent place in the rooms of the museum facility.

A diorama with around 800 tin figures illustrates the battle of December 20, 1712 in Wakenstädt. The most recent part of the permanent exhibition shows the history of the town of Gadebusch during the GDR era.

The "Art at the Burgsee" project, which extends from the museum complex along the Burgsee, is another tourist attraction with its creative diversity.
