The Boxtel - Wesel railway line, also known as the German railway line, is a former railway line of the Noord-Brabantsch-Duitsche Spoorweg-Maatschappij. The line connected the German Wesel with the Dutch Boxtel via Goch, Gennep, Uden, Veghel and Schijndel. Wikipedia

The German Line was originally a unique connection between East and West (Boxtel - Wesel). The railway was opened in 1873 by the North Brabant-German Railway Company (NBDS). The purpose of this line was to establish a direct short connection between the seaports of Vlissingen, Antwerp and Rotterdam and the German hinterland. Goods and passenger transport were important until around 1910 as part of the international connection between London and Berlin and further east towards Vladivostok. After the bankruptcy of the NBDS, the line was operated by the NS. In 1950 the line was closed for passenger transport. And in 2004, the NS ended freight transport on the last remaining stretch from Boxtel to Veghel.
