The temple itself is over 1500 years old. It was founded in 503, initially as a small temple in the residence of a local resident named Wang Shu. Over time the temple grew to its current size.
Although the temple itself is not very famous, it is home to the famous Qinfeng Tower that is a landmark of Qiandeng and can be easily seen from a distance. And also a huge reclining Buddha statue, almost 9m long and 2.5m high. The Buddha statue is inlaid with more than 1,500 gems.
