The Iron Footbridge (not to be confused with the Iron Bridge, located 800 meters further downstream) is a simple steel trough pedestrian bridge over the southern branch of the Danube in Regensburg, connecting Regensburg's old town with the Upper Wöhrd district at river kilometer 2380.07. The footbridge was built after World War II and opened in 1948. The current Iron Footbridge is the successor to an original Iron Footbridge, built between 1900 and 1902 as a steel arch bridge and demolished at the end of the war.
