In 1964, in order to organize the Abidjan Games, the stadium, formerly called Stade Géo André, took the name of President Félix Houphouët-Boigny and underwent restoration. Nicknamed “Le Félicia”, the multifunctional national stadium (football, rugby, athletics) of Côte d'Ivoire, is located in the commune of Plateau d'Abidjan, it has a capacity of around 40,000 spectators. It hosts the matches of the Ivorian football team, as well as certain matches of the national football championship.
After the renovation from 2020, the Félicia expanded to a capacity of 40,000 seats, but will lose its status as a national stadium in favor of the Ebimpé Olympic Stadium in Anyama.
