Behind the museum, in the grounds of the castle ruin, you can visit the small and interesting garden, also called "Sara's Garden", with a variety of ancient medicinal herbs and other flowers and plants. The Sara was a well-known figure in Vordingborg in the 1800's. She lived in the Riddergade and had a large garden on the grounds of the castle ruin, which was not in the same spot as the historic botanical garden. The current garden was created in 1921 at the request of the Tourist Office by G. Brandt as the first of its kind.
