Case, aka Andreas Von Chrzanowski, is one of the founding members of the East German crew Ma’Claim. Pioneers of photo-realism, the artist focuses on representing hands, a natural link between the brain and the real world. His perfect mastery of drawing allows him, by playing with his fingers or phalanges, to transmit emotion and message. At Case Maclaim, the superposition of hands is not only a physical movement of the body but also a political movement placed in a particular context where the spectator can visualize recent history and feel an emotion. He left his fingerprints in more than twenty countries. So many universal messages because “a hand gesture can say a thousand words”.

Here Boulogne sur Mer obliges, he offers us a magnificent fisherman. He is resting in his bathtub and still keeps his cap on his head. He takes advantage of the moment of relaxation to smoke his pipe. Who says fisherman also says tattoo with this Boulonnaise present on his torso (photos Nov 2017).
