Blauwhuisweg and Berkelhofweg previously together formed Berkelhofstraat, a short rural street from Nieuwpoortstraat, a winding and dead-end route. The street is typified by a number of reconstruction farms from the 1920s and by two now abandoned late medieval sites with a moat. Farms with loose brick components under tiled gable roofs and well-kept brickwork of roofs with braiding (see Berkelhofstraat number 1 and number 2). The so-called "Berkelhof" (see indication on the staff map, see Berkelhofstraat without number) goes back as a site to the "Cse Berclehof" on the Ferraris map (1770-1778) (see Berkelhofstraat number 2).
