Rum Pond is a pretty, freshwater pond with great views of Mount Katahdin near Greenville, Maine, with a small camping area on its northeastern shore. It is a popular hiking trail, but you can also complete the challenging, technical, Blue Ridge traverse from here by bombing up the steep namesake ridge to the intersection with Rum Brook trail and Cranberry Pond. If the traverse is too much, there is also a great, shorter, better-maintained loop you can do by turning onto the Rum Brook Trail and taking it back down to the trailhead.
