The mountain hut is open from mid-June to the end of September and can accommodate numerous guests in rooms and dormitories. It is situated in a stunning location with panoramic views of numerous surrounding peaks, valleys, and striking rock formations.

The Postman's House (1688 m) is a mountain hut on Vršič. It is managed by the Mountain Association of Post and Telecom Ljubljana and operated during the summer season. The hut has a catering area with 53 seats and a bar. It has 10 rooms with 30 beds and 20 bunk beds. It is the starting point for mountain hiking trails to Mojstrovka, Prisojnik, Razor, Jalovec, and other peaks of the Julian Alps.
