The wall found on Loreto Street was part of the palace of the Inca Huayna Capac, known as Amaru Cancha, which translates to "House of the Snake".
This site was built in the Inca period, but with the arrival of the Spanish it was replaced by the construction of colonial houses that still maintain the stone base.

Calle Loreto, also known as Intik'ijllu (in Quechua: Alley or Street of the Sun). On one side there is a large and solid Inca wall. The construction is attributed to the Inca Huayna Cápac. Likewise, the street bordered the “Acllahuasi” (House of the Chosen), a place where the “Virgins of the Sun” were in the monastery and worshiped the sun.
