The Church of the Savior is an eclectic temple located in Park Południowy, in close proximity to the Sopot beach and the pier. It was built by the Sopot evangelical commune in 1913-1919. Originally the church was called the Church of Peace. It was built on the site of a small chapel dating back to the second half of the 19th century. The construction of the church was initiated by the growing number of residents and holidaymakers in the dynamically developing Sopot resort. This church is currently in the hands of the Evangelical commune. Its shape is an interesting combination of neo-baroque and Art Nouveau styles, with numerous references to various historical eras.
The Church of the Savior certainly deserves to be visited, regardless of the challenge and attitude towards religious buildings. Kept in exceptionally good condition, it is undoubtedly one of Sopot's attractions.
