With a rectangular, simple plan and a popular style typical of the Hermitages in the area, the Ermita de la Vera Cruz stands in the center of the town adjacent to the current Municipal Park, an old cemetery until the 60s of the last century.
Regarding the origins, the year of construction is unknown, but it can well be claimed to be the oldest building in the Villa. This is attested to by a report from 1655 on the visit of two religious of the Order of San Juan to the towns and parishes under their jurisdiction, in which a detailed description of the Ermita de la Vera Cruz is made during their visit to Camuñas.
