The church of Martino, first mentioned in 1146 but probably dating back to the 11th century, is located above the village. The building is characterized by elements of the Romanesque period and a fresco south of the portal depicting Saint Christopher. The bell tower, which stands alone, has three rows of double-arched windows (11th century).
The interior of the church, with a nave and semicircular apse, was lowered at a later date. The frescoes reveal Baroque and late Gothic styles. The altarpiece depicts the Madonna between Saints Martin and Catherine.
The archaeological research carried out during the restoration (1986) confirmed that on the site of the current church there was a wooden building from the 7th century, later a masonry building and then a Romanesque church. During the work, a trunnion (around 700 AD) and an altar (7th century) were found. It is composed of a column and a tomb; It is probably the oldest altar in Ticino.
