Praia do Calhau da Maia, located on the curve of the Maia area, is one of the many volcanic sand beaches in the Azores. With basic services and a bar, it is a quiet place, frequented mainly by locals, and offers a relaxing experience, both on the sand and in the rocky areas. Ideal for relaxing and exploring the surrounding natural beauty.

Super nice hike along the coast. Definitely walk down to the beach past the old water mills, along the beach a little bit and back up past the beautifully renovated mills.
