The Jardim Botânico Nacional Grandvaux Barbosa is the only botanical garden in Cape Verde. The garden is located in São Jorge dos Órgãos.
In the Botanical Garden, the emphasis is on endemic plants. Some are threatened with extinction. Issues of conservation, reforestation and use to limit erosion are being investigated.
The garden was created in 1986 and named after the Franco-Portuguese botanist Luís Augusto Grandvaux Barbosa (1914-1983). It is 400 meters above sea level and covers 20,000 square meters. He is part of the land-

The garden is open to the public from 8am to 3pm Monday through Friday, with the option of group visits at other times and days.
