The first mention of the synagogue in Banie comes from the end of the 19th century. It was probably located at Bischofstraße (Biskupia Street; today Pocztowa Street) near the post office. Later, when the commune was too small, the old synagogue was sold to the Stresow family. The new owners were not Jews and soon turned the building into an ordinary residential house. Thanks to this, the former synagogue building was not destroyed during Kristallnacht and survived until the end of the war.
From 2022, the renovated synagogue building will house a municipal kindergarten
