Let's go back in time to 20,000 years ago. Do you know where you would be walking? On a glacier! Amazing, huh? This place was completely submerged in ice, which reached as far as Lake Garda.
About 15,000 years ago, the rise in temperatures caused it to slowly retreat until it disappeared. Here the glacier has transformed the landscape into something unique. The limestone slabs you see around here have been smoothed by its passage. The Brento wall, the mountain in front of you, is the result of the collapse of the rocks that began when the glacier retreated. This is how the Marocche were formed, enormous landslides of boulders rolling down the valley, which you can see as you travel along the Valle dei Laghi and Sarca. Lake Cavedine is also a memory left by the glacier.
I often come to this magical place, from here I can also admire the Brenta Dolomites, one of the most beautiful peaks in Trentino.
