The Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail is a 41 km long trail that follows the route of a former railway line in the Western District of Victoria, Australia. The trail offers a scenic and varied experience for cyclists, walkers and horse riders, as it passes through volcanic features, farmland, forest and historic bridges. The trail is mostly gravel and is slightly more adventurous than your average rail trail. There is a 4km single trail section that follows the original railway line between Merretts Road and Curdies River. This section is a scenic ride through dense bushland and still has the rails and sleepers of the former track, though some of the sleepers are now covered with tuff (volcanic ash). There are five by-pass bridges built across Limestone Creek in this section and the trail is narrow and muddy in parts, especially after heavy rain. This section is best suited for a gravel or mountain bike, but can be ridden with a touring bike.
