If you're looking for a relatively quiet trail run without a ton of elevation gain, this is it — although there's no way around the fact that you're starting at almost 10,000 feet (3,048 m) and doing some mild climbing from there.
If you want to log more miles, you can tie this run in to the Gap Lakes Trail, the Quealy Lake Trail, or even the Sheep Lake Trail. However, this trailhead along a rough Forest Service road tends to only be available from July to October in a typical year.
