The Headwaters Trail System is a fantastic network of paved trails that follows the path of the old Milwaukee Railroad through Three Forks. It covers approximately 12 miles of paved trails in and around the town, connecting Headwaters State Park and the Jefferson River's Droulliard Fishing Access.
These trails are part of the "Great American Rail-Trail Rails to Trails Conservancy" project, repurposing old railway lines into walking and biking paths, extending over 3,700 miles from Washington, D.C. to Washington state.
