The first light hole of a total of 8 light holes at the fiscal (state-supported) Rothschönberg tunnel is 53 m deep. From here, the tunnel was dug towards the Rothschönberg mouth and towards the second light hole. For safety reasons, this shaft is covered with a concrete slab. You can still see the remains of the wall and the entrance to the powder chamber, as well as a water management marker stone, because in 1847 there was an artificial pond above it that supplied the impact water for the artificial and sweeping wheel. Due to the strong groundwater, a steam engine was used in 1857.
