Be aware that the passage here, even very late season, may still have large patches of snow/ice slumping across the trail. Late season these may be avoided by scrambling over the rocks above/below the snow, though early season the drifts will have to be crossed using proper snow gear (crampons/microspikes/ice axe.)
Remember the cardinal rule of High Sierra Hiking!: Always bring your ice axe! While a fall may not always be treacherous, it will never be fun!
