The Luther monument in Worms, where Luther stood in front of the Reichstag in 1521, was created in honor of the reformer Martin Luther by Ernst Rietschel and unveiled on June 25, 1868. It is the world's largest Reformation monument, alongside the international Reformation monument in Geneva. Almost unimaginable today - purely for reasons of space: Among the more than 20,000 festival participants (!!!) were numerous princes and leading evangelical personalities.
