There are two Kurfürst Cycles in Mainz. The original is in the State Museum, on the banks of the Rhine next to the Hilton Hotel is the replica between the pillars of the former bridge gate.
The reliefs originally adorned the Kaufhaus am Brand. The exciting thing is that this department store was opened in the 14th century and was commissioned by the citizens of Mainz. There is a document about this from 1317.

Mainz Electoral Cycle
These are relief battlements from the former department store on the fire. These show the patron saint of Mainz, St. Martin on horseback, the Roman-German King Ludwig the Bavarian and the seven electors (the archbishops of Mainz, Cologne, Trier, the King of Bohemia, the Count Palatine of the Rhine, the Duke of Saxony and the margrave of Brandenburg). The sandstone reliefs belong to the oldest collection of the Landesmuseum Mainz. After the early Gothic department store near the fire was damaged during the siege of Mainz (1793), the building was demolished at the beginning of the 19th century, whereby the relief paintings were previously salvaged. Noteworthy is in addition to the very good state of preservation, the detailed contemporary representation of armor and armament of the persons.
