Castle located on top of a hill overlooking the neighboring valleys of Monte Neulós, about seven kilometers east of the neighborhood of Requesens. Its term corresponds to that of the old town of Requesens, a town in La Jonquera.

The building is characterized by a triple wall line with square and round towers, portals and battlements
The origins of Requesens Castle date back to the 11th century. Built by the Dukes of Rousillon as a border fortress, it changed hands several times throughout its history and at some point fell into disrepair. Tomàs Rocabertí de Damento, Duke of Peralada, indulged his penchant for romantic palaces and castles. In the 19th century he also commissioned the reconstruction of the dilapidated walls of Requesens, giving free rein to his romantic fantasies. Since then, the playful Romantic style has characterized the building.
