Small but nice hike near Montpelier or Worcester in Vermont. The hike begins at the hiking car park, which is relatively easy to reach and can actually only be reached by car. The hike starts relatively flat in the deciduous forest - absolutely amazing when the leaves are turning in autumn - always near a stream. Don't be fooled, it gets steeper. I definitely recommend sturdy shoes for absolute surefootedness, as there are steep and rocky sections in the upper part of the mountain. There are sections that go over pure stone fields. Near the summit the vegetation changes and is reminiscent of the Dolomites in South Tyrol. When the weather is good, the view is simply amazing. Must do!!
