From the parking lot it is about 500 meters to Glacier Point. From here you have a great panorama of Half Dome, the Valley, Yosemite Falls, Nevada and Vernal Falls. The view of Half Dome and the mountains is at its best at sunset. In the evening, a ranger will tell you something about the origins of the area.
