This is the easiest mountain biking trail in the Hillside trail system, but you'll still need your wits about you because you'll be sharing the trail with hikers and runners. Traffic runs both ways on this trail but some of the other biking trails around it are unidirectional, so pay close attention to trail signs.
Wildlife encounters (including moose and bears) are quite possible here. Make sure you know how to handle surprise encounters, and consider carrying bear spray for protection — it's one of the most common mountain biking accessories in Alaska.
