Illfracombe Harbour is many centuries old and is still a working port with a fleet of fishing vessels as well as leisure cruisers and sea-life safari boats.

On the quay you will find pubs, restaurants, shops, fish and chips, ice cream, cafes and public toilets. Plus Damien Hirst's 'Verity', a 20m bronze statue, 'a modern allegory of truth and justice', on loan to Ilfracombe for 20 years since 2012.

Don't stay for too long. You may just fall in love with Verity (Damien Hirst's work) I did. Last stop for a good portion of fish and chips!

Some great views of Ilfracombe and surrounding areas with Verity dominating the vista.

Especially nice from up by the church of st Nicholas which has a short but lovely and steep climb up to it. Admittedly I’m not sure cycling is allowed up, though no signs ban it. It was quiet when I went and did and could push up without problem! 🤷‍♂️
